ifo DICE Report 1/2020
In this issue we present different approaches and perspectives on how countries within and outside the EU could and should prevent carbon leakage by adjusting the carbon price at the border.
Although the challenge is a global one, solutions are usually found at the country level and sometimes even differ within one country. In the ifo DICE Report 1/2020, we present articles by leading scholars in this field, describing the different approaches in selected countries and their results.
This article describes carbon pricing approaches and their implementation in an international comparison. As shown, nations differ not only as to their carbon emission levels in various dimensions (over time, cumulative, per capita, etc.) but also as to their choice of carbon pricing methods.
